Q: Will
I be able to receive 2SM Digital Radio?
We suggest you visit
www.digitalradioplus.com.au
and type your
postcode into the search function to see if you can receive 2SM Digital Radio.
Q: Can my existing radio pick up 2SM Digital?
Unfortunately not, you will need to purchase a new radio which must be DAB+
enabled. Look for the DAB+ enabled logo on the product pack.
Q: Where can I buy a new DAB+ receiver?
Major retailers including
Harvey Norman,
Dick Smith,
The Good Guys,
Myer,
David Jones,
Clive Peeters,
Retravision,
Big W and specialist retailers will carry a
range of digital radios from a number of
Pure,
Roberts,
Sangean,
Bush,
Revo,
Grundig,
Teac,
Yamaha and iRiver. (Retailers and manufacturers links we've found
with more information).
Q: How much will a DAB+ radio cost?
Like any product range, digital prices will vary depending on the features
and capabilities. Entry-level receivers (with scrolling text) start from around
$150 and receivers with all capabilities are expected to start at around $299.
Q: Will Digital Radio cost me anything (apart from my receiver purchase)?
No. You simply have to buy a DAB+ enabled receiver to listen to Digital
Radio. There are no other costs - no subscription fees, no download fees, just
tune in.
Q: I sometimes get crackling on my radio when I listen to 2SM 1269AM, will
this happen on 2SM Digital?
Digital Radio will provide interference free, digital quality sound and your
radio will find the best signal in your area rather than you messing around with
tuning the dial.
Q: Will 2SM's 1269AM signal be switched off soon?
At this stage there are no plans to switch off our AM service. As there are
an estimated five analogue radio devices per household, listeners must be given
time to change over all of their existing radio devices before any discussion
takes place on switching off analogue services.
Q: Where can I get more information?
Information about any of these topics can be found at
www.digitalradioplus.com.au
or
email us about 2SM Digital.
